Closing reflection

Purpose

This marks the boundary / end of the ritual ceremony. State that we are leaving the space of the ritual. Provide a sense of the memorial's closure here.

Ideas

Final Reflection: Share a poem, passage, or prayer that leaves participants feeling hopeful and believing that the deceased lived a full life.

Closing Song: Choose a song that is well-known and uplifting. Consider having all participants sing (example: Lean on me).

Logistics: Indicate to participants whether the family is planning an in-person memorial event once restrictions are lifted. Also a chance to invite people to a community gathering or online reception immediately thereafter.
